Adobe PDF format Understanding Youth Homelessness in Dublin City: Key Findings from the First Phase of a Longitudinal Cohort Study

This research examined the process of youth homelessness in order to enhance current understanding of trajectories into, through and out of homelessness. It provides a perspective on youth homelessness based on the accounts and experiences of young people, who are either temporarily or chronically without permanent shelter. The study identifies structural and psychological barriers to service access and utilization among homeless youth and makes policy recommendations related to service provision, early intervention and the prevention of negative health outcomes.
