Children First – National Guidelines for the Protection and Welfare of ChildrenAdobe PDF format document

“Children First” provides a set of sound principles and good practice guidelines for organisations that provide services to children. Everyone has a duty to protect children and the Government has introduced these national guidelines to strengthen arrangements for the protection of children. They emphasise the importance of inter-agency co-operation and outline the various steps to be followed in order to protect children at risk and try to prevent the recurrence of child abuse.
