Abstract:
Presents an editorial regarding articles found in the April 2005 issue of "Sexualities." Reference to the book "Families We Choose," by Kath Weston, regarding lesbian and gay family lives; Stories of parenting told by gays and lesbians; Ways in which various societies deal with children of gays and lesbians; Articles in the journal that focus on parenting as an aspect of gay family life; Discussion of the limits of choice and opportunities facing gays who are or who wish to become parents; Reference to a study that compares family practices amongst lesbian mothers and their relationship to donors/fathers in Sweden and Ireland; Articles that focus on the way in which lesbians construct family across racial, ethnic and non-biological divides.
